Roberto Cavalli RTW Fall 2012

Roberto Cavalli RTW Fall 2012
Roberto Cavalli did a lot better than in his Collection for Just Cavalli. We did like the fabrics, the patterns and the amazing embroidered pieces. What we cannot see anymore in his collections: leopardo print. Change the animal. Whatever. I think is time for a new print. It was a great collection after all though. More after the jump.

Dsquared RTW Fall 2012

Dsquared RTW Fall 2012
DEAN and Dan Caten - in matching velvet green suits - took us to the prom this morning at DSquared (they even sent pale rose wrist corsages as the invites). Well, isn't that how you should start every Monday morning? You can always expect something wildly imaginative from this pair (we've had Glastonbury and we've had science labs) and when the last day of Milan Fashion Week is about to wrap (sort of like the fashion equivalent of half term) and you really don't have any idea what day it is anymore, this brings you back to reality, well, sort of.

Missoni RTW Fall 2012

Missoni RTW Fall 2012
Missoni presented a collection with fur accents, shoulder wraps, print mixing, long hemlines. The colours of the collection were red, rust, gray, blue, moss green, brown. Fabsugar has chosen the sheer lace dress with brocade cape and  the gold-encrusted party dress with black veil as key pieces. The models were wearing elbow-length leather gloves, thin waist belts, fur hats, thin-tipped boots and heels, geometric gold brooches. The whole collection after the jump.

Genny RTW Fall 2012

Genny RTW Fall 2012

Gabriele Colangelo had two inspirations for his Genny collection, his second at the house, which is keen on a comeback. The first was Georgia O’Keeffe’s orchids, which provided the color scheme of deep purple, burgundy and murky blue, as well as prints on filmy chiffon dresses and an interesting, spongy organza jacquard used on skirts.

We found some street style snapshots from the Milan Fashion Week, we hope it inspires you somehow. Lots of trench coats, colored coats and skinny trousers. Check the pictures after the jump.

Moschino RTW Fall 2012

A medley of influences, including toy soldiers, party girls and what looked to be motocross rangers, marched through the fall Moschino collection. Backstage before the show, designer Rossella Jardini described the lineup as “a parade” — complete with a snare drum soundtrack — indirectly acknowledging that the Sixties military jackets; streamlined, color-blocked knit tops and leggings and the taffeta pouf dresses inspired by Peter Seller’s “Pink Panther” looked like they belonged to different collections entirely.

Gucci RTW Fall 2012

Gucci RTW Fall 2012
“Romanticism — literally speaking, of the 19th century.” That was Frida Giannini’s starting point for her fall Gucci collection. It worked like a charm of the seductive, rather than sweet, variety. She chose a palette moody with color (dark maroons, greens and navys) and fabrics with flourish; high-drama brocades and jacquards formed the base, worked in combination with velvet, fur, silk and leather.
