suno resort 2012

Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty drew inspiration from the Hawaiian islands and its tourists for their Suno resort collection. So some great bright tropical floral prints were used for everything from tops to maxidresses, while vintage-inspired striped cardigans, tunics embroidered with fruits and worry dolls and some great swimsuits rounded out the collection. michael angel resort 2012

The art of prints was taken to a new level with Michael Angel’s resort collection. Images were manipulated to form colorful, 3-D-like stripes and repetitive patterns on halter tops and dresses, one which was paired with a great leather jacket. At the other side of the spectrum, a black crepe dress with colorblocked white sleeves or a red maxidress nicely balanced the artsy aspect. (WWD)

Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2012

Diane von Furstenberg and her creative director, Yvan Mispelaere, struck a surf ’n’ turf mood for resort with lots of swim tops and bermudas — many layered over biker shorts and shown with Windbreaker vests and T-shirts, much of it in neon bright mixes. In fact, it was all the layering in different lengths and the wild color and fabric mixes, not to mention the flirty miniskirts, that gave this collection a fresh, funky, sporty appeal. Still, chic city girls weren’t forgotten, so for them there were plenty of slender dresses. The signature wrap was also there — this time as a bright green printed jumpsuit, looking as new as ever.
