Studio 54, Bianca Jagger, Marisa Berenson and photos by Guy Bourdin and
Helmut Newton served as Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli’s
latest inspirations at Valentino.
“We strongly believe that fashion
still should make people dream,” said Piccioli. They also looked to
playful references from the Eighties, thus looks included radzimir silk
and tulle balloon minidresses with bow details, velvet harem pants and a
flared, zebra-striped coat in pony skin. They riffed on the tuxedo,
too, delivering a classic version in velvet and an unconventional
reinterpretation: a black-and-white radzimir silk gown embellished with
bows.
