You may never have heard the deep voice of Lana Del Rey, nor understand the great success of the latest American pop muse. Still, you've probably seen a picture of her lips, blond-now-almost-red hair and clothing with a retro background.
Beside snatching fans all over the world because of her music, she became a fashion sensation - yes, she has covered the February issue of British Vogue and many other fashion publications.
So ladies, let me describe a little bit about Lana´s style:
For her, sensuality does not need to be obvious, Lana sets aside the pop artist dressing code, normally overdoing "sexy looks".
Miss Del Rey has been betting on a very interesting sartorialist game: show and hide . If the dress is short, it has no neck or it has an open back. If the shorts are showing too much thighs, Lana normally goes for high waist pieces.
Feminity: Mary Janes and floral prints give a romantic atmosphere to Lana´s very authentic wardrobe. Note: Despite all girlie pieces she owns, Lana avoids the ordinary-girlie look.
Retro Look: Her hair takes us back to the 50's and to the Hollywood glamour of the (real) Movie Divas with its reddish color and its light waves pulled on the side. Her clothes seem to have exit a thrift store. Lana Del Rey is somehow the impeccable mix between contemporary and antique, turning her style irresistible.
Rock'n'Roll kick- to balance the extreme femininity of some of her pieces, Lana finishes off her looks with pieces full of attitude, like denim shorts, destroyed tank tops (those that are or seem to be quite old) and leather jackets.
In the Mulberry Fall 2012 RTW show in the London Fashion Week it got also clear that their new muse is the now everyone's darling Lana Lana Del Rey. Mulberry named their new bag, "The Del Rey Bag".
I do not particularly like the new bag, it's the way too simple (somehow even boring). I do bet it going to be hit this year though.
