"24 Hour Catwalk" with Alexa Chung

 

 Alexa Chung, made an appearance on the Jimmy Fallon chat show in the US last night to promote her new TV show, 24 Hour Catwalk.

Wearing a metallic silver, doily-like Marc Jacobs coat as a dress, the 28-year-old proved her good-sported nature by throwing an American football at some empty cans of beer - and beating Fallon in the process.

Having recently split up with Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner, Chung revealed she spent Christmas back in the UK in her native Hampshire, in the "tiny village" where she grew up and getting into the festive spirit in a "pub with no name" on Christmas Eve.

Her new TV show debuts in the US next week, and features four designers battling it out to create a collection in 24 hours. Joking that the premise of the show is "incredibly mean," Chung admits that she didn't realise she too would be roped in to staying up for 24 hours too - as it's she who tells the designers what to do.

And in typical British self-deprecating style, she also blasted her DJ-ing skills: "Essentially I make two CD's: I don't really mix, I press play and make myself look really busy." And when she runs out of things to do behind the decks, she goofily pretends to walk down stairs, which she demonstrated for Fallon, convincing him that its charming and not "lame", as he previously thought.

24 Hour Catwalk premiers in the US on January 10.
