Vogue Brazil had a lot to celebrate in 2011. Never so many foreign tops have posed for the magazine, including Kate Moss, who came to the country to shoot with her longtime friend Mario Testino an historical edition. Moreover, in 2011, Vogue Brazil has reached its 400th edition, full of beautiful tributes. Passthrough with us the highlights of this year for the Brazilian edition of this fashion must read.
The year started very well, Adriana Lima was the Cover of the February issue and the beautiful protagonist of two editorials: the first one as their queen of Carnival in their editorial called "Abre Alas" and the second one dancing samba late into the night.
Also in February, Kate Moss and Mario Testino came to Brazil to photograph a particular issue that celebrated in 508 pages the 36 years of the magazine. The british top posed alongside Brazilian icons such as Oscar Niemeyer, Alcyone and Pele (Kate did not hesitate to tietar and much the king), plus a beautiful team including Rodrigo Santoro and Cauã Raymond. Detail: She even appeared nude on the cover the magazine.
Shortly after, Vogue headed to the Amazon to shoot Gisele Bündchen, known for its green behaviour. And instead of one, four covers featuring Gisele - among them the favorite of Brazilian Vogue readers in 2011. Gisele was also the ambassador of the Brazilian Fashion's Night Out Brazil in September.
No one better than the daughter of a rock star (or better, "THE" rock star) for the cover of their issue devoted to music. Georgia May Jagger, Jerry Hall and Mick Jagger's daughter was the star of Brazilian Vogue September Issue. Freja Beha and Candice Swanepoel were other disputed foreign tops stamping their covers in 2011.
Karolina Kurkova flew from the US to Rio de Janeiro to fill their annual issue dedicated to the Wonderful City. The Czech top took classes on how to be an authentic carioca (a local from Rio) - among her teachers Oskar Metsavaht and Preta Gil. Karolina has returned to Brazil especially for the launch of the edition. Here you can see the whole "How to be a carioca" editorial.
Shortly after, Christian Louboutin was celebrating his 20-year of career with Vogue.
And to finish the year in successful atmosphere, Rodrigo Santoro met Alessandra Ambrosio in New York. The actor, took the place of model for the magazine, posing for our cover photo shoot in the Big Apple next to the Victoria Secret's angel. The same edition celebrated the 400th issue of Vogue Brazil, with tributes from Christian Louboutin, Marc Jacobs, Peter Dundas, among other names of the fashion elite. A great year. Bring it on 2012!
